This session will review the latest updates to the Surviving Sepsis Campaign (SSC) International Guidelines for Management of Sepsis and Septic Shock in Children, which will be published concurrently with Congress. More than 40 experts in critical care medicine; emergency medicine; infectious diseases; pharmacology; and grading of recommendations, assessment, development, and evaluation (GRADE) methodology from SCCM, European Society of Intensive Care Medicine, and other professional societies from across the world and different strata of resource availability reviewed the updated evidence and formulated new and revised recommendations since the 2020 SSC recommendations for children. This session will review key recommendations, including updates and changes, supported by the latest published evidence for recognition and management of infection; hemodynamics and resuscitation; ventilation; metabolic, adjunctive, and immunologic therapies; and long-term rehabilitation.
