The creep toward a post-antibiotic era due to antibiotic resistance has necessitated novel therapies for infection management in the ICU. This session will discuss 1) antibiotics for multidrug-resistant and extensively drug-resistant infections, considering novel drug mechanisms, delivery techniques, and combinations; 2) phage and nonantibiotic therapies, including how they work and their place in therapy, and 3) patient and family experience of surviving a multidrug-resistant organism treated with phage therapy.
