This session will discuss management strategies for intractable pain in pediatric patients, emphasizing the importance of a multifaceted approach to managing refractory pain, combining pharmacologic and nonpharmacologic strategies while addressing disparities in care. Clinicians must adopt a patient-centered, holistic mindset that recognizes the complex nature of pain, while ensuring equitable treatment for all children. Speakers will highlight pharmacologic and nonpharmacologic approaches to pain management that go beyond opioids.
