Vaccine-preventable diseases (VPDs) continue to cause severe illness in children, with pediatric intensivists often managing the most critical consequences. This session will feature a case-based discussion and a panel of intensivists sharing frontline experiences with life-threatening complications such as respiratory failure, sepsis, and multiorgan dysfunction. Speakers will highlight the prevailing pediatric VPDs anticipated in 2026, explore diagnostic and management challenges in the PICU, and reflect on the broader implications for prevention and advocacy.
