Christine Swartzman, MSN, APRN, AGACNP-BC, ACCNS-AG, CCRN currently serves as an Acute & Palliative Care Nurse Practitioner for Empath Health in the Sarasota, Florida area, where she provides care in multiple hospital systems. Christine recently completed a postgraduate certificate from the University of Central Florida in 2023 as an ACNP, but prior to that time, she served as a Critical Care Clinical Nurse Specialist in a large Orlando-based health system from 2013-2023. In this role, she led and participated in many hospital and corporate level quality initiatives and research projects, with some of her major roles having been serving as a comprehensive stroke program manager, a sepsis program manager, and leader of the corporate Ventilator Associated Events prevention committee. She has been a member of the Society of Critical Care Medicine and American Association of Critical Care Nurses since 2010, and she and has presented multiple abstracts and posters at the SCCM International Congress, the ANA Quality Conference, and the IHI Forum from 2016-2021. She is very proud to have been part of a team that was awarded the SCCM Patient and Family Centered Care Innovation Award for their “We See You Boards” in 2018, and another team that was awarded the Star Research Award in 2021 for an innovative quality project to reduce Ventilator Associated Events. In 2023 she served as a member of the AACN virtual item review committee for the board exam for the ACCNS-AG certification. Christine is very passionate about providing empathetic and evidence-based care, and she is very honored to be here to present to you today.
