Gail Basch, MD, FASAM is a Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences, Division of Adult Psychiatry, Rush University Medical College in Chicago. With over 37 years of experience in general psychiatry, Dr. Basch has specialized in addiction medicine for the past 20 years. She serves as the Medical Director of the Adult Outpatient Psychiatry Clinic for Persons with Co-Occurring Disorders and as the Program Director of the Rush Addiction Medicine Fellowship Training Program. Her passion lies in training new healthcare providers on best practices for diagnosing and treating persons with addiction-related and behavioral disorders. She is a grateful professional in recovery and advocates for her colleagues who share this path. She is a lifelong Chicago city dweller, partner to Eric, mother to Emma Louise, and pet mother, most recently to energetic Cane Corso puppy named Margo.
