Dr. Alhazzani is an intensivist, gastroenterologist, and methodologist. He is an associate professor of medicine and health Research Methodology at McMaster University, Canada.
Dr Alhazzani is the lead methodologist on several international prominent practice guidelines, including the surviving sepsis campaign (SSC) guidelines and the SSC COVID-19 guidelines. Dr Alhazzani lead many clinical practice guidelines with professional societies such as SCCM, ESICM, ACCP, and ATS. He is the chair of the guidelines in intensive care, development, and evaluation (GUIDE) Group and the chair of practice guidelines chapter under the Saudi Critical Care Society.
Dr Alhazzani published over 140 research articles, he is a CIHR-funded clinical trialist, and an expert in systematic reviews and practice guideline development.
