Dr. Karin Reuter-Rice is a tenured Professor at Duke University, with appointments in the School of Nursing and the School of Medicine Departments of Pediatrics and Neurosurgery. She is a nurse scientist, expert clinician, and faculty member within Duke University Health System’s Division of Critical Care Medicine. Her research portfolio includes funding by industry, foundations, and the National Institutes of Health. Her research explores the intricate relationship between precision health technologies, big data, and health outcomes in children with traumatic brain injury. Dr. Reuter-Rice leverages innovative statistical approaches to develop robust risk stratification models, extending her research impact from critical care to community settings. She served as a co-chair for SCCM Discovery Network Data Science Campaign’s development of the first Critical Care Data Dictionary (C2D2) and is the Vice-Chancellor of the American College of Critical Care Medicine. She is also a co-editor of the Elsevier textbook Pediatric Acute Care: A Guide for Interprofessional Practice.
