Dr. Boh L. Song, PharmD, BCPPS is a Clinical Pharmacy Specialist in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) at Children’s National Hospital in Washington, D.C., where she has served in progressive clinical roles since 2018. Board-certified in Pediatric Pharmacy, Dr. Song brings a decade of experience in pediatric critical care, clinical research, and pharmacy education.
She earned her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Mercer University and completed her PGY1 in pharmacy and PGY2 in pediatric pharmacy at Children’s National Hospital and the University of Chicago Medicine, respectively.
Dr. Song is a dedicated educator and mentor, actively involved in precepting PGY1 and PGY2 residents and delivering lectures across pharmacy and medical programs. Her teaching spans topics such as pediatric immunology, critical care pharmacology, and organ dysfunction, and she has contributed to preceptor development and resiliency initiatives.
Her research portfolio includes studies on pediatric sedation, asthma management, and electrolyte disturbances, with multiple co-investigator roles and national presentations. She is a published author in peer-reviewed journals and served as a co-author for a chapter titled "Use of Analgesia, Sedation, Anesthesia, and Neuromuscular Blockade in the Pediatric ICU" in a recently published third edition of Comprehensive Critical Care: Pediatric.
Dr. Song has led numerous clinical initiatives, including protocol development for ECMO, status epilepticus, and insulin management in critical illness. She serves on several hospital committees, including the Formulary Subcommittee (as chair), the Pediatric Early Recognition and Resuscitation Committee, and the Organ Donation Council.
A committed advocate for pediatric pharmacy, Dr. Song contributes nationally as a BCPPS exam writer and reviewer for the American College of Clinical Pharmacy. Her work reflects a deep commitment to advancing pediatric patient care through clinical excellence, education, and collaborative practice.
