Dr. Hebbar is a Professor of Pediatrics and Medical Director of Safety & Simulation at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. His team has been using simulation with systems engineering framework for safety to improve bedside clinical practice of medical staff, test and improve systems of care. His team has developed novel tools and systematic approaches to assessing the safety of clinical spaces through simulation-based clinical system testing (SbCST) and for integrating simulation into the design of a new facility (Arthur M. Blank Hospital) and when renovating an existing clinical space. most recently work has focused on using simulation as the backbone to developing processes, change management and have diagnosising and improving latent safety threats withing clinical systems from a wide range of issues from HAIs, emergency response teams within and wihtout the hospoital, virtual nursing, and ECMO cannulation.
