Kimberly Sciarretta, PhD is the Program Director for DRIVe’s Launch Office focused on Therapeutic innovation and leads the Type to Treat, Host-Based Diagnostics, Host-directed Therapeutics, and the Decentralized Clinical Operations for Healthcare and Research (D-COHRe) programs. Dr. Sciarretta has been with BARDA since 2015, and was one of inaugural members of DRIVe, influencing the vision and growth of the Division. Prior to BARDA, Dr. Sciarretta had extensive experience within the Department of Defense and other US government agencies as a technical consultant, focusing on biological and chemical defense as well as leading innovation in areas including synthetic biology and advanced manufacturing. Dr. Sciarretta strives towards building and piloting new strategic approaches to support agile preparedness for public health emergencies and to improve patient outcomes. Dr. Sciarretta received her Ph.D. from the University of Chicago in Molecular Genetics and Cell Biology
