I am Yang Liu, MD, currently serving as a Chief Physician in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at Tianjin Nankai Hospital, Tianjin, China. I received my Bachelor of Medicine from Tianjin Medical University in 1995, followed by postgraduate residency training in Internal Medicine (1995–1998) and fellowship training in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at the Characteristic Medical Center of the Chinese People's Armed Police Force (Tianjin, China). In 2009, I completed advanced physiological training at the University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf, Germany.
I earned both my Master’s degree (2002) and Doctor of Medicine degree (2016) from Tianjin Medical University, each awarded upon the successful defense of my thesis and the publication of at least one first-author original research article in a high-quality, peer-reviewed scientific journal.
My research interests focus on cardiopulmonary physiology, heart–lung interactions, predictive analytics, respiratory and hemodynamic monitoring, and the assessment of volume status in critically ill patients. I have edited five medical textbooks, authored more than 40 peer-reviewed publications and 20 book chapters, and have contributed to over 20 abstract presentations at national and international conferences.
