Prof. Ahmed Mohamed Reda Ali Taha, MD (PhD), FRCP (London & Edinburgh), FCCP, FCCM, EDIC
Prof. Ahmed Mohamed Reda Ali Taha is a distinguished intensivist, educator, and global leader in critical care medicine with over 25 years of experience in cardiac and critical care. A graduate of Ain Shams University, he holds an MD (PhD) in Critical Care Medicine and dual Master’s degrees in Cardiology and Critical Care. Internationally accredited, he is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians (London & Edinburgh), the American College of Chest Physicians (FCCP), and the American College of Critical Care Medicine (FCCM). He is also certified by the European Diploma in Intensive Care (EDIC) and the National Board of Echocardiography (USA), and is an ELSO-certified Adult ECMO Practitioner.
He serves as Vice Chair of Education at the Critical Care Institute, Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, and Associate Professor at the CCLCM, CWRU. As Chair of the SCCM International Middle East, Africa & India Advisory Committee (2025–2028), he leads strategic initiatives that advance critical care training and research across regions.
Prof. Taha has developed advanced postgraduate and multidisciplinary training programs, delivering over 100 international courses in collaboration with SCCM, ESICM, and ANZICS. Renowned for expertise in ECMO, mechanical ventilation, and point-of-care ultrasound, he is a highly sought-after speaker at global conferences.
He has authored and co-authored numerous peer-reviewed publications in Critical Care Medicine, BMC Pulmonary Medicine, Uptodate, and Springer Nature, and contributed to the textbook ECMO: A Practical Guide to Management (Springer, 2024). His innovations in education and technology earned him a U.S. patent and prestigious recognitions, including SCCM Presidential Citation Awards (2023–2025) and the Safar Global Partner Award (2021).
Through scholarly leadership and mentorship, Prof. Taha continues to elevate global critical care by integrating clinical excellence with advanced education and international collaboration.
