Hashim Butt, MD, is a third-year Internal Medicine resident at Hackensack Meridian Health – Mountainside Medical Center in Montclair, New Jersey, with a strong academic and clinical interest in Critical Care Medicine. He earned his medical degree from CMH Lahore Medical College & Institute of Dentistry in Pakistan and is pursuing a career in academic critical care.
Dr. Butt has broad experience managing critically ill patients in medical intensive care units, including rapid response and code situations, hemodynamic stabilization, airway management, and invasive procedures such as endotracheal intubation and central venous catheter placement. His clinical interests include neurologic and metabolic emergencies, complications of advanced interventions, and multidisciplinary care of high-acuity patients.
He has demonstrated scholarly engagement through national conference presentations at the American Thoracic Society. His research interests focus on procedural complications, patient safety, and outcomes in critically ill populations. Dr. Butt is also actively involved in resident and medical student education, with a particular interest in simulation-based training to enhance procedural competency and improve patient safety in the ICU.
Dr. Butt intends to pursue fellowship training in Critical Care Medicine and is committed to advancing evidence-based practice, education, and quality improvement in high-acuity care settings.
