Miranda Saathoff, BS, received her degree in Cell and Molecular Biology from Winona State University and is currently a second-year medical student at the University of California, Irvine School of Medicine. Her research focuses on white-matter disease, early neurodegeneration, and predictors of functional outcomes in moderate-to-severe traumatic brain injury, with an emphasis on improving risk stratification in critical care. She is committed to advancing critical care neurology through translational research. Prior to medical school, she investigated molecular mechanisms of chemotherapeutic resistance in recurrent glioblastoma and worked in the prehospital setting as an Emergency Medical Technician.
