Alexander (Alex) J. Gajewski, MD, is a resident in internal medicine at Parkland Hospital/UT Southwestern/Dallas Veterans Affairs. He earned a BA from the Plan II Honors program at the University of Texas at Austin, while working as a legislative intern in the Texas State Senate. There, he focused on natural resource management and financing of the early childhood intervention program. After college Gajewski entered medical school at UT Southwestern Medical Center. During the Summer of 2021, Gajewski served as a health policy fellow with the US Senate Finance Committee, chair’s office. He assisted efforts to reform Medicare drug pricing and expand the Medicaid home and community-based services program. The former policy ultimately became law as part of the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022. Since then, Gajewski has continued with research in healthcare policy and started exploring a new interest in critical care medicine.
