Monroe Carell Jr Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt, Georgia
Laura (Smallcomb) Lilly, MD, is an advanced fellow in cardiac critical care at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. Her training spans bioethics, internal medicine and pediatrics, and pediatric critical care, reflecting a broad and interdisciplinary academic foundation. Her clinical and research interests include pulmonary hypertension, the ethical implications of genetic diseases, and outcomes in the cardiac intensive care unit.
Dr. Lilly earned her medical degree from Drexel University College of Medicine in Philadelphia. She completed her combined residency in internal medicine and pediatrics at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, followed by fellowship training in pediatric critical care at Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt in Nashville.
She has contributed to original research during the COVID-19 pandemic and is currently focused on pulmonary hypertension and modifiable outcomes in children with single-ventricle physiology. Dr. Lilly will join the pediatric cardiac ICU faculty at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta this summer.
