Over the past 30 years, Prof Cai has accumulated experiences in treating condition such as sepsis, Severe Acute Pancreatitis (SAP) and nutritional support in critical care.
She is an active member of the Chinese Society for Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition, the Life Support (ELSO) Branch of the Chinese Medical Doctor Association, the Infection Group of the Chinese Society of Hepatology, and the Disaster Prevention Medicine Branch. She also serves on the editorial boards of the Chinese Journal of Clinical Nutrition.
