Dr. Trupesh Chanpura, MD, MHA, CPE, FCCP, is a board-certified Critical Care and Neurocritical Care physician and serves as Chair of the Critical Care Department at Springfield Clinic, works at Springfield Memorial Hospital ICU, where he has practiced since 2013. Throughout his career at Springfield Clinic, he has held several leadership and academic roles, including former Director of the Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) at Memorial Medical Center, Medical Director at Gracepoint–Short Term Rehabilitation at Lewis Memorial Christian Village, and ICU Rotation Site Director for the Emergency Medicine and ENT residency programs at SIU School of Medicine. He currently serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Surgery–Division of Emergency Medicine and as course director and consultant for the Fundamentals of Critical Care Support (FCCS) program. Dr. Chanpura completed his fellowship in Critical Care Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine following residency training in Internal Medicine at the Canton Medical Education Foundation and earned his medical degree from Smt. NHL Municipal Medical College in Ahmedabad, India. He holds board certifications in Critical Care Medicine, Neurocritical Care, Critical Care Echocardiography, and Internal Medicine, and has completed advanced certifications including FCCS, ATLS, ACLS, BLS, and Fundamentals of Disaster Management. He is an active member of several national and state professional organizations, including the Society of Critical Care Medicine, American College of Chest Physicians, American Medical Association, American Association for Physician Leadership, Illinois State Medical Society, and Sangamon County Medical Society.
