Dr. Monica Lupei is an Associate Professor of Anesthesiology and Critical Care in the Department of Anesthesiology at the University of Minnesota. She has extensive leadership experience and currently serves as Program Director of the Anesthesiology Critical Care Fellowship, as well as Medical Director of the UMMC West ICU and the M Health Fairview Ridges ICU.
Dr. Lupei is an active member of several national and international professional societies, including the Society of Critical Care Medicine (SCCM) and the Society of Critical Care Anesthesiologists (SOCCA). She serves as Secretary/Treasurer of the Anesthesiology Section of SCCM. Her academic and clinical interests include global health, patient outcomes research, and quality improvement.
