Sanjay Subramanian

Omnicure Med, Missouri

Dr. Sanjay Subramanian is an Associate Professor of Critical Care at Washington University in St. Louis and a nationally recognized leader in tele–critical care innovation. With more than two decades of bedside ICU experience across medical, surgical, cardiothoracic, neurocritical, trauma, and mixed academic and community ICUs, he brings deep clinical expertise combined with systems-level leadership in quality improvement and program development.

Dr. Subramanian has been at the forefront of telemedicine implementation, leading large-scale tele-ICU deployments and system-wide critical care initiatives that integrate high-fidelity data, operational redesign, and measurable quality outcomes. He previously served as Chair of the Tele-ICU Committee for the Society of Critical Care Medicine (SCCM), helping shape national dialogue and best practices in virtual critical care delivery. A frequent national speaker and moderator, he has led roundtables and conference sessions focused on digital health governance, ICU operations, and scalable telemedicine models.

He is also Co-Founder and CEO of Omnicure, a tele–critical care platform designed to expand acute and specialty access through vendor-neutral, data-driven infrastructure. Under his leadership, Omnicure has supported hospitals nationwide with scalable virtual care models that address workforce shortages while enhancing clinical quality and operational efficiency.

Dr. Subramanian’s work bridges bedside medicine, health system strategy, and digital innovation. His leadership philosophy centers on building resilient, technology-enabled critical care ecosystems that extend expertise beyond geographic constraints while preserving clinical rigor and patient-centered care.
