Christopher Schott, MD MS RDMS is an Associate Professor of Critical Care Medicine and Emergency Medicine at the VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System and University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. He serves as the Director of Point of Care Ultrasound (POCUS) for the VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System. He has been recognized for his excellence as an educator through receiving the Golden Apple Awards and Clinical Educator of the Year for 4th year elective awards on multiple occasions through the School of Medicine. He has been enducted into the University of Pittsburgh Academy of Distinguished Medical Educators. He is a nationally recognized clinician-educator with a niche for POCUS education. He has taught for the SCCM POCUS course from 2014 to present. He is the current Chair of the SCCM Adult Ultrasound Committee. He has been a curriculum developer and core faculty for the Veteran Affairs’ national POCUS programs. In addition to his education, he has received external funding for his work in POCUS, focusing on optimal methods for both instructors to teach and students to learn this novel skill with multiple manuscripts published in these fields.
