Dr. Jennifer LeTourneau, DO, MCR, FACP, FCCM is an Associate Professor of Medicine at Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU), Portland OR and the section chief for Pulmonary, Critical Care, Sleep, and Allergy Medicine at the VA Portland Healthcare System (VAPORHCS) in Portland, OR. She is an active medical intensivist and trains medical students, residents, and fellows in the medical intensive care unit. She is also an online coach/facilitator for the master’s program in Medical Education at Penn GSE.
Dr. LeTourneau graduated from University of Puget Sound, Tacoma WA with a Bachelor of Arts degree, majoring in psychology, minoring in chemistry. After working as a medical assistant for three years, she went to Western University of Health Sciences, College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific in Pomona, CA. She completed her residency in internal medicine, fellowship in critical care, and Master of Clinical Research at OHSU. She has previously served in leadership roles in graduate medical education (GME) as associate chief of staff, education at VAPORHCS, as a graduate medical education officer for the Office of Academic Affiliations in VA central office, and as clinical vice president, medical education and designated institutional official (DIO) at Legacy Health, Portland, OR. She recently finished a six-year term as a member of the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) Institutional Review Committee. She has received local and national awards for mentoring women in medicine. She has presented nationally on physician leadership, workforce development through graduate medical education initiatives, and organizational dynamics.
When she is not busy working on new ways to help colleagues improve communication and leadership skills, she enjoys teaching her children self-sufficiency via microwaving ramen, patience via trout fishing, and satire via Cunk on Earth.
