Kristina Betters is an Associate Professor of Pediatrics at Vanderbilt University. She is the PICU Medical Director, leads the multi-disciplinary ICU Liberation Committee at Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt, is a founding member of the MiniMINDS pediatric delirium team and member of the Critical Illness, Brain Dysfunction, and Survivorship (CIBS) Center. She served as Co-Chair of the SCCM ICU Liberation Committee in 2023, served in the PANDEM guidelines author group, and co-led the formation of the American Delirium Society Pediatric Special Interest Group. Her clinical research interests focus on strategies to mitigate the negative consequences of a PICU stay, as well as defining the true burden of PICS and PICS-F in the PICU population and explore opportunities during and post ICU stay to reduce such burden.
