Tracey is a neurointensivist and assistant professor of neurology at the University of Chicago. She graduated from her fellowship training in Neurocritical Care at Massachusetts General Hospital/Harvard Medical School. She received her medical degree from Touro University in Nevada and completed her neurology residency training at Cleveland Clinic Foundation.
Her research interests include advancing precision medicine and brain health by identifying individualized treatment strategies for patients with mechanical circulatory support (MCS), sepsis, and ARDS, with a focus on optimizing long-term neurological outcomes and preventing brain injury. She aims to understand the mechanisms of acute brain injury in these critically ill populations and develop protocolized neuromonitoring, prevention, and management strategies for neurologic complications. Additionally, she is interested in the interconnection between the brain and other organ systems and the mechanisms underlying non-cerebral complications following acute brain injury.
