Fazila Aseem, MD MPH is a neurointensivist and Assistant Professor of Neurology at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU). After earning her doctorate in medicine from Wake Forest University School of Medicine and master’s in public health from Emory University Rollins School of Public Health, Dr. Aseem completed her neurology residency and neurocritical care fellowship at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill prior to joining VCU.
Dr. Aseem’s clinical and research focus includes preventing secondary neurological injury due to neuropathological and systemic complications, enhancing patient outcomes, and optimizing the continuum of care from the ICU to outpatient. As a member of the National NeuroRecovery Consortium, she is deeply committed to complex care for patient with acute neurological injury and bridging the gap to meaningful recovery outpatient.
