Dr Yaw Kusi-Mensah is an Anaesthesiologist and Intensivist based in Accra, Ghana with over 10 years’ experience in the medical profession. He has a special interest in Critical-care, Cardiothoracic anaesthesia and Cardiometabolic Diseases. He is a part-time Senior Lecturer at the Department of Physiology, University of Ghana Medical School. He holds an MPhil in Physiology from the University of Ghana and an MPhil in Adult Critical Care from the Stellenbosch University. He was the past deputy secretary for the Ghana Anaesthesiologist Society. Yaw has a passion for research and his PhD research has been focused on unravelling health disparities among migrants in Europe. He has been a part of several research projects and publications. Yaw is one of the few clinicians shortlisted for the jumpstart program by Fresenius in 2024, aimed towards Clinical Nutrition research in the ICU. He is also an ASA GLOBAL SCHOLAR winning the award in 2024. As part of his weekly routine and for fun, Yaw likes to run, play lawn tennis, cycle and swim.
