Yike Zhang is a respiratory care student at Rush University, pursuing a Master of Science in Respiratory Care and expected to graduate in 2026. Originally from Sichuan, China, Yike holds a bachelor’s degree in medicine and a master’s degree in cardiology. Before coming to the United States, he completed his residency in internal medicine at West China Hospital and worked as a cardiologist, where he developed a strong foundation in anatomy, physiology, and cardiac care. Currently, Yike works as a Respiratory Therapist Assistant while conducting research on respiratory care in critical care settings. His professional interests include optimizing ventilator weaning strategies and improving patient outcomes in intensive care units. With a 4.0 GPA and several published research papers, Yike combines clinical expertise with compassion and a deep commitment to patient-centered care.
