Wake Forest University School of Medicine, California
My name is Emad Khosh hemmat, and I am currently a fourth-year medical student pursuing my MD/MS combined degree at Wake Forest University School of Medicine. I am originally from Iran and moved to the United States when I was 17. I completed my undergraduate studies at the University of California, San Diego, where I also worked as a clinical research coordinator for two years before attending medical school. I was recently awarded the NIH T32 Predoctoral Fellowship in Learning Health System Science and my research focuses on translational and implementation science in critical care, with specific interests in vasopressor strategies, clinician practice variability, and hemodynamic management in septic shock. I am also interested in quality improvement projects that address disparities in access to care among underserved populations and to understanding the systemic barriers that contribute to inequitable health outcomes. In addition, I'm also passionate about global health and recently spent two months in South America gaining deeper insight into international health systems and global care challenges.
