Gaurav Luthra, MD, is an Internal Medicine Resident at Central Michigan University. Dr. Luthra completed his medical degree at Saba University School of Medicine following a Bachelor of Science with a Chemistry minor from the University of Alberta. He currently trains at Central Michigan University, where he provides comprehensive inpatient and outpatient care, mentors medical students, and performs a wide range of ultrasound-guided procedures including central venous access, arterial lines, and dialysis catheters.
Dr. Luthra’s academic interests center on pulmonary medicine, and health disparities. He has contributed to multiple peer-reviewed publications, book chapters, and national conference presentations, including accepted oral presentations at the 2025 American Heart Association Scientific Sessions. His recent work spans meta-analyses of cardiovascular interventions, epidemiologic assessments of cardiogenic shock and endocarditis, and case-based clinical investigations. His research has also been featured at the World Conference on Lung Cancer and within journals such as the Journal of the American College of Cardiology.
In addition to his clinical and research responsibilities, Dr. Luthra plays an active role in medical education and program development. He serves on the CMU Program Evaluation Committee, contributes to ongoing curriculum improvement, and provides mentorship to medical students through structured academic guidance, webinars for international medical graduates, and one-on-one coaching for clinical and exam preparation. His prior teaching experiences include serving as a Teaching Assistant in Infectious Disease and Anatomy and working as a physiology tutor.
Driven by a commitment to patient-centered care and scholarly growth, Dr. Luthra aims to pursue fellowship training after residency, with a long-term goal of combining clinical practice, research, and medical education to improve outcomes for diverse patient populations.
