Dr. Carla Lluberes Rivera, MD, FAAP is a third-year Pediatric Critical Care Medicine Fellow at UT Health San Antonio. She completed her pediatric residency at the University Pediatric Hospital – University of Puerto Rico, where she developed strong clinical and academic foundations in critical care, systems improvement, and medical education. Fully bilingual in English and Spanish, Dr. Lluberes is a dedicated advocate for delivering compassionate, culturally responsive care to diverse and underserved populations. She holds active medical licenses in both Texas and Puerto Rico.
Her research interests are rooted in quality improvement, which began during residency and continue to evolve throughout fellowship. She is especially interested in projects that enhance patient safety, streamline care delivery, and improve clinical outcomes in pediatric critical care settings.
Dr. Lluberes is driven by a vision of integrating clinical excellence with education, leadership, and system-based innovation to elevate the future of pediatric critical care medicine.
