Meagan Owen MS, RD is registered dietitian specializing in transplant nutrition. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Nutritional Sciences from Penn State University and completed her dietetic internship at the University of Oklahoma. Meagan went on to obtain a master’s degree in nutrition and human performance from Logan University, where she graduated valedictorian of her class. In 2023, she was honored with the Recognized Renal Dietitian Award for Region 2 by the National Kidney Foundation. She also served as Chair of the Virginia Council of Renal Nutrition for four years, leading professional development efforts for renal dietitians across the state. Meagan began her transplant career working primarily with kidney transplant patients. She has since expanded her expertise to include pre- and post-transplant nutrition care for liver, heart, and lung transplant recipients. Meagan currently works as a transplant dietitian at the VCU Health’s Medical College of Virginia, where she helps patients navigate the unique nutritional challenges that come with transplant and supports multidisciplinary efforts to optimize patient outcomes.
