Eric Pyles, PharmD, BCCCP, is a Critical Care Clinical Specialist at AdventHealth Orlando. He has nine years of experience practicing in high-acuity environments including the Multisystem Intensive Care Unit and Hepatology ICU, where he provides advanced pharmacotherapy support for complex critically ill patients. Dr. Pyles is deeply involved in clinical education and training, serving as a long-standing preceptor for pharmacy students, PGY1 and PGY2 residents, and contributing to the AdventHealth Orlando Internal Medicine Residency Program as well as serving as adjunct faculty for the Critical Care Medicine Fellowship.
Throughout his career, he has played a central role in the pharmacy residency research program, directing research operations and serving as a primary and secondary advisor for numerous research projects and medication use evaluations. His scholarly interests include hepatologic, pulmonary, infectious diseases, and cardiovascular critical care. Dr. Pyles is particularly passionate about interdisciplinary education, leading critical care pharmacy initiatives in nurse education on pain, agitation, delirium, and the ABCDEF Bundle. He is a multi-year recipient of the Preceptor of the Year award and is presenting research on the use of intrapleural fibrinolytics at his institution.
