Attended Wellesley College earning a degree in biochemistry. Became involved in preclinical research at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio (UTHSCSA). The lab primarily used animal models to better understand the pathologic remodling of the heart post-myocardial infarction. From there enrolled in the MD/PhD program at UTHSCSA, which earned the distinction of becoming the South Texas Medical Scientist Training Program through NIH funding. Dissertation research centered on the role of cardiac fibroblasts in the pathophysiology of doxorubicin cardiotoxicity in pediatric patients. Then went ti eastern Idaho for unique training in internal medicine. Currently a second year of a neurocritical care fellowshiip at UNC Chapel Hill with plans to apply for a critical care medicine fellowship.
