Matthieu Komorowski is a physician-scientist and entrepreneur dedicated to using artificial intelligence to improve patient outcomes in critical care. HE serves as a Consultant in Intensive Care and Anaesthesiology at Charing Cross Hospital in London, and Chief Medical Officer and co-founder of STRIVE Health, where he lead the development of AI-driven clinical decision support systems that enhance workflows and support real-time treatment decisions in hospitals.
From 2019 to 2025, he was a Clinical Senior Lecturer (Associate Professor) at Imperial College London, where he led pioneering research at the intersection of medicine and machine learning. He was the first to apply reinforcement learning to intensive care decision-making, work published in Nature Medicine and now cited 1500+ times. His academic background includes an MD from Lille University Hospital, a Master’s in Biomedical Engineering, and a PhD in Machine Learning from Imperial College London. He held research fellowships at the European Space Agency and MIT. Recognised among the top 2% of scientists worldwide (Stanford/Elsevier, 2024), his work bridges data science, clinical practice, and innovation. His ambition is to build safe, interpretable, and human-centred AI systems that bring measurable benefit to patients and the clinicians who care for them.
