I am Anthony McClenny, MD, MPH, FAAP, a Senior Pediatric Critical Care Medicine Fellow at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, dedicated to caring for critically ill children while advancing the future of medical training. I completed my undergraduate studies at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, earning a Bachelor of Science in Biology with minors in Chemistry and African American Studies as a Morehead-Cain Scholar. I remained at UNC to complete both my medical degree and my Master of Public Health, where I developed a strong commitment to health equity and community partnerships. I began my clinical career in Washington, D.C., completing my pediatric residency at Children’s National Hospital. During that time, I grew passionate about improving how we teach and support healthcare trainees, especially in high-stakes environments like the ICU. My academic interests focus on medical education technology—particularly immersive and mixed-reality simulation for ECMO training—and on research that addresses disparities in healthcare quality and access. I have contributed to projects aimed at combating childhood obesity, reducing food insecurity, and improving vaccine communication in historically marginalized communities. I enjoy presenting my work nationally and contributing to the scientific literature as a way to spark innovation and collaboration.
