Director of Respiratory Care Research

Ivan Garcia is the Director of Respiratory Care Research for NYU Langone’s ASPIRE Trials Program. Mr. Garcia has extensive experience in the conduct of late-phase clinical trials in acute respiratory failure, and plays a key role in the PREVENT-VILI multicenter trial for moderate to severe ARDS (NCT06066502). He also co-led national coordination for the INSPiRE-ICU trials comparing propofol vs. inhaled isoflurane for mechanically ventilated patients. His research interest include ARDS, ventilator-induced lung injury, and patient-ventilator interactions, with expertise in esophageal manometry and lung-EIT.
