Practiced intensive care medicine for 20 years, developed an interest in quality improvement and held a position of medical director of quality improvement. Became chief medical officer for a hospital system in the northwest during which time became interested in sepsis. Developed a sepsis early warning system in collaboration with microsoft and implemented a sepsis protocol and bundle. Joined Immunexpress and was involved with the clinical trials, validation and FDA clearance of a host response sepsis diagnostic and continue to be involved with its clinical adoption.
