Dr. Emily Esposito, DO is an Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine, Program in Trauma at the University of Maryland School of Medicine and R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore, Maryland. Dr. Esposito received her medical degree from New York College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2015, completed residency in Emergency Medicine at Albany Medical Center in 2018, and completed a fellowship in Surgical Critical Care at the Shock Trauma Center in 2020. She was the inaugural Extracorporeal Life Support (ECLS) fellow at the University of Maryland Shock Trauma in 2021. She is now the co-director of the ECLS Fellowship, Associate Medical Director of the Multitrauma ICU at Shock Trauma, and chair of the Resuscitation Committee at the University of Maryland Medical Center. In addition to Surgical Critical Care, she holds additional board certifications in both Emergency Medicine and Neurocritical Care. Alongside her clinical and administrative roles, Dr. Esposito is involved in ECLS education, research, and is heavily involved in student education, serving as the faculty advisor for the critical care interest group at the University of Maryland School of Medicine and course director of the Trauma ICU subinternship. Outside of the hospital, she enjoys spending time with her family, including weekend hikes, and visiting the Maryland Zoo and Science Center with her two daughters.
