Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
NIH-funded clinician-scientist and academic leader serving as Professor of Anesthesiology, Critical Care Medicine, and Pediatrics at the University of Pennsylvania, and as Division Chief of Critical Care Medicine at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP). With formal training in clinical epidemiology and biostatistics (M.S., UPenn, 2010), a sustained record of NIH support (K23 and multiple R-level awards), and leadership as Co-Director of the CHOP Research Institute’s Resuscitation Science Center, his work is focused on ensuring CPR guidelines are grounded in high-quality evidence and reliably implemented at the bedside. His research has helped establish core principles of pediatric resuscitation quality—particularly physiologic-directed CPR and ventilation—informing American Heart Association Pediatric Advanced Life Support guidelines. Nationally, he has held key AHA leadership roles, including Chair of the Get With The Guidelines–Resuscitation Pediatric Research Task Force, and has served as an invited scientific expert for the International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation.
