Adan (Adam) Mora, Jr., MD FCCP is an associate professor of internal medicine and medical intensivist at UT Southwestern Medical Center – Parkland Hospital in Dallas, Texas triple boarded in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Medicine, and Critical Care Medicine. His passion is serving vulnerable populations and serves as a nationally renowned expert in the care of critically ill pregnant patients and transgender patients. He has been appointed to serve on the LGBTQ+ at CHEST interest group (vice-chair). He also serves as a member of the Health Equity Task for CHEST which seeks to set equitable healthcare for patients in pulmonary, critical care and sleep medicine. He also serves on the FCCS: Obstetrics group. He trained at the Texas Medical Center, in Houston, Texas, and after having completed a dual residency in Internal Medicine/Pediatrics, he completed fellowship training in Pulmonary and Critical Care at UT Houston – MD Anderson Cancer Center. He has been an associate professor with the Texas A&M Medical school and core faculty at Baylor University Medical Center. Prior to joining UT Southwestern, he was the Chief of Critical Care Services for a hospital system in Columbus, Ohio where he created all of their CME and educational initiatives. Prior to that he previously served as the associate program director for the pulmonary and critical care fellowship at Baylor as well as the course director for critical care. He has won numerous teaching awards for the medical education he provides medical students, residents and fellows. He is an expert in interview preparation and has guided countless medicine professional on their journey to securing their next professional steps in training and employment. He has lectured and presented at both the local, national and international level on both pulmonary and critical care topics.
