Dr. Mina is Chairman of Medicine and Chief of the Pulmonary Critical Care Fellowship Division at Northern Westchester Hospital, Northwell Health. Dr. Mina is an Associate Professor at Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell. Dr. Mina is the Chair of Education Committee of Natioal PERT Consortium. Dr. Mina is a graduate of Medical School, Alexandria University. He trained in internal medicine at Lenox Hill Hospital. He finished his Critical Care fellowship at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, and Pulmonary Critical Care Fellowship at St. Vincent Hospital and Medical Center in New York. Other degrees include European Diploma of Intensive Care Medicine, and Diploma of Tropical Diseases, Royal College of Surgeons, Dublin, Ireland. He is a member of the Society of Critical Care Medicine, European Society of Intensive Care Medicine, European Respiratory Society, American College of Chest Physicians, and American Thoracic Society. Dr. Mina is a member of Fundamental Critical Care Support Task Force, and Internal Medicine Section of Society Critical Care Medicine.
My professional career is dedicated to patient care, education, research, with an ultimate goal to improve the quality of care provided to our patients. As the program director for Pulmonary Critical Care Fellowship, I contribute to residents and fellow’s medical education, and training. I have a leadership position in the Pulmonary Emboli Response Team (PERT) and COPD Response Team at our institution which utilizes a multidisciplinary approach toward treating patients with pulmonary emboli, and COPD. I am member of the COPD/Pneumonia task force for the Northwell Health aiming at improving and standardizing the quality of care provided. I am involved in educational committees in national societies involving activities involving patient and resident’s mentoring and education in pulmonary emboli, COPD, and disaster managements. Main research interests include noninvasive ventilation, Palliative care, thromboembolic disease, and COPD.
