Dr. Josephs completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Michigan and attended the Michigan State University College of Human Medicine from 1997 to 2001. He completed an internship in combined Pediatrics and Internal Medicine at The University of Michigan and then completed residency in Anesthesiology at The University of Cincinnati Medical Center in 2005. There Dr. Josephs served as Chief Resident and subsequently completed an Anesthesia Critical Care fellowship 2005-2006. Following graduation from fellowship he accepted a teaching appointment in the Department of Anesthesiology at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine where he is currently an Associate Professor. His primary clinical area of interest is promoting excellent perioperative and critical care medical services for complex or critically ill patients. He has served as Medical Director of the Center for Perioperative Care and as Director of Transplantation Anesthesiology Services at UC Health. Dr. Josephs is heavily involved in quality improvement work within the health system. He acquired intermediate and advanced improvement training at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center. He has established departmental curricula and co-founded health system curricula in improvement science. He has personally led many improvement projects, mentored numerous leaders, and published his quality improvement efforts. As the current Vice Chair of Quality for the Department of Anesthesiology, Dr. Josephs is currently tasked with advancing departmental and health system quality improvement capability and capacity.
