Ana C. Castro, PhD, MSc, BSc (she/her/hers)

University of York-Department of Health Sciences, England, GBR

Dr Ana Castro trained as a Critical Care Physiotherapist and works as a research fellow at the University of York, UK. Ana's main research interests are recovery after a critical illness and improving service delivery after hospital discharge for ICU survivors. Ana is presenting on a project called "Minimising Sedation in Intensive Care patients" (MISSION-ICU), which aimed to explore clinicians’ views across the UK on why sedation optimisation is not achieved and to seek their suggestions for strategies that could help achieve sedation optimisation. This project was funded by St Barts’ charity, and it was a collaboration between City St George's University of London, Queen’s University Belfast, Edinburgh Napier University, Birmingham City University, and the University of Edinburgh.
