Bob Newmyer (he/his) has taught point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) since co-founding the Pediatric Critical Care Ultrasound Initiative at UPMC Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh. Now in his second term as a Neonatal and Pediatrics Ultrasound Committee member, Dr. Newmyer teaches in the national course, both in the fall and at Congress. In addition to SCCM, Dr. Newmyer has taught POCUS across Northwestern Feinberg medical school's curriculum as well as McGaw's internal medicine residency program, and the pediatric emergency medicine and critical care fellowship programs. Dr. Newmyer completed a general pediatrics residency at UH Rainbow Babies & Children's Hospital in Cleveland and a pediatric critical care medicine fellowship at UPMC Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh. Dr. Newmyer serves as peer reviewer for multiple journals and on the Editorial Board of PREP ICU. He holds an MBA with a major in organizational management from Northwestern Kellogg School of Management. He is former faculty at SUNY Upstate and Upstate Golisano Children's Hospital in Syracuse, NY and at Northwestern and Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago.
