Bria Coates, MD is an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics, Critical Care Medicine, at Northwestern University and Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago. Her research bridges clinical care and mechanistic studies to define how age-dependent innate immune responses shape the severity and long-term outcomes of viral respiratory infections in children. Her work aims to translate these insights into novel diagnostics and targeted therapies that improve pediatric lung health. Her research is funded by multiple foundations and the NIH, including the American Thoracic Society, American Lung Association, the Manne Research Institute, and NHLBI.
