Matthew Kirschen, MD PhD is an Associate Professor of Anesthesiology and Critical Care Medicine, Pediatrics, and Neurology at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. He is the Associate Director of Pediatric Neurocritical Care and the Director of the Neurocritical Care Fellowship Program at CHOP. His research is focused on detecting and preventing brain injury in critically ill children, predicting recovery in children after severe acute brain injury, and the accurate diagnosis of death by neurologic criteria.
