Dr. Evan S. Leibner obtained his MD from Penn State University, Milton Hershey School of Medicine in 2013, along with a PhD in biomaterials chemistry. He completed his Emergency Medicine Residency at Stony Brook University Hospital in 2016, where he also served as Academic Chief Resident. Subsequently, Dr. Leibner undertook a Surgical-Trauma Critical Care fellowship at the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center, finishing in 2018. After his training in Emergency Medicine and Critical Care, he joined The Mount Sinai Hospital, focusing on cardiac critical care and medical education for Emergency Medicine residents and Critical Care fellows.
Currently, Dr. Leibner is an Associate Professor at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. His leadership roles include Co-Director of the System Wide Difficult Airway Response Team, Director of Critical Care Education for the Mount Sinai Health System, Director of Simulation for the Institute for Critical Care Medicine, and Director of the ICCM Guidelines Committee. His professional interests encompass emergency and resuscitation care, advanced airway management, simulation-based education, and development of standardized protocols in critical care. Dr. Leibner serves on national committees for the Society of Critical Care Medicine and has contributed numerous peer-reviewed articles and book chapters. He is also a frequent speaker at national and international conferences, advancing the disciplines of Emergency and Critical Care Medicine.
