Timothy Ruchti, PhD, is an applied scientist and technical leader with expertise in physiological measurement, medical device algorithm development, and artificial intelligence for healthcare applications. As Director of Algorithms at Nihon Kohden Digital Health Solutions, LLC, his work focuses on the design of data driven and machine learning based systems that extract clinically meaningful information from continuously acquired physiologic signals and waveforms.
He has developed algorithms for noninvasive monitoring, therapeutic decision support, and predictive modeling in hospital and critical care environments, supported by advanced physiological models of cardiovascular dynamics, insulin glucose kinetics, and optical transport in tissue. His experience spans the full lifecycle of medical device software from model development and validation through clinical translation, resulting in over 50 issued patents and multiple commercialized products.
