Ian Liu, MD, JD, MPH, MS, is a pediatric resident, lawyer, and health policy researcher with a clinical interest in pediatric critical care, currently a PGY-2 at the University of Illinois Chicago. An Arizona native, Ian earned undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of Arizona in cell biology. He also holds a JD from New York University and an MPH in epidemiology from the University of Alabama Birmingham. Following medical school at the University of Colorado, Ian completed a postdoctoral fellowship at Harvard Medical School and Brigham and Women's Hospital in the Program On Regulation, Therapeutics, And Law (PORTAL), where he studied prescription drug policy. Ian's research interests are in drug approval, pediatric drug regulation, pedidatric health policy, and the evidence-based use of drugs in pediatric populations. His first-author research has been published in journals including JAMA, JAMA Pediatrics, Pediatrics, and the Journal of Pediatrics. His clinical interests are in pediatric critical care.
